October 2025 Updates & Notices

October 2025 Updates & Notices

Dear InThinking IGCSE Economics subscribers

Welcome to the October Newsletter!

We hope you are finding the updated resources for the new IGCSE Economics syllabus beneficial for your teaching. As a reminder, these resources are specifically designed to support both you and your students as you navigate the new specification, with exams starting in 2027. This includes:

  • An updated e-book to match the new specifications
  • Engaging lesson activities
  • Assessment guidance, including top tips and common mistakes to avoid in the IGCSE Economics exams
  • Worked examples for both Paper 1 and Paper 2
  • Interactive Quizlets to support students with their own revision
  • Exam-style questions with accompanying mark schemes.

New content is being added each week, throughout the year.

You can find details of all changes to the new syllabus here.

Check the latest resources updated for the new syllabus (first teaching 2025) here.

Other updates

Updates to the website for the new syllabus now feature an expanding collection of interactive Quizlet activities. Students can select their preferred Quiz format from the dropdown menu, including Flashcards, Match, Learn, Test, and Spell, allowing them to revise in fun and engaging ways.

The Quizlet for Topic 3.3.3 (Reasons for differences in wages) can be accessed here.

The Quizlet for Topic 6.2.4 (Methods of protection) can be accessed here.

A new set of Paper 2 exam practice questions based on the recent cut in interest rates by the US Federal Reserve here. The stimulus focuses on the impact of tariffs on the US economy (inflation, output, and jobs) and hence interest rates as a policy measure to deal with these macroeconomic issues.

InThinking welcomes Ethiopia

In late September, we were thrilled to welcome Ethiopia 🇪🇹 as the 31st country to join the InThinking IGCSE Economics community! Many thanks everyone for your ongoing support - it is highly appreciated.

At the time of writing, we have reached another new milestone with 155 registered teachers and 1024 students (who have free access).

Did you know that your students can have completely free access to the InThinking IGCSE Economics website by you simply activating Student Access? You can also register other teachers in your school to gain access to the website, which is updated every week, 52 weeks a year. Content on the website now exceeds 630 000 words. To put this into context, the 320-page Cambridge-endorsed IGCSE Economics textbook (3rd edition), published by Hachette Learning, contains approximately 150 500 words. The annual subscription therefore represents extremely good value for money and will save you hundreds of hours of planning.

Finally, we know at InThinking that the strength and growth of the community of teachers using our sites rely on word of mouth. If you are enjoying the website, please share your insights through your own social networks. We are certainly keen on hearing from you, guiding the site's future developments. Testimonials for the InThinking IGCSE Economics website can be found here.

In addition to IGCSE Economics, there are existing InThinking IGCSE websites for:
