June 2024 Updates and Notices
Dear InThinking users
Welcome to the June 2024 Updates and Notices. Please see below for some of the latest additions to the InThinking IGCSE Economics website:
Additional Paper 2 Exam Practice Questions have been added to the site during the past month. Examples include:
Unit 1.2.2 (Mobility of the factors of production) here.
Unit 2.4.4 (Conditions of supply) here.
Unit 4.8.3 (Causes of inflation and deflation) here.
Other additions to the website include:
- A set of 15 true or false questions for 2.4.3 (Individual and market supply) here.
- A new inquiry activity for Unit 4.6.3 (Causes and consequences of recession) focusing on the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic has been added here.
- A set of 20 true or false questions for Unit 5.1.1 (Indicators of living standards) here.
- A new activity has been added to Unit 5.3.3 (The effects of changes in the size & structure of population on different countries) here. This is based on the economic impacts of overseas students.
- New statistical data for Unit 5.4.1 (Differences in economic development between countries) has been added here, from the US Department of Labour and US Bureau of Labour Statistics, showing a clear correlation between educational attainment, median weekly earnings, and unemployment rates. This is evidence of economics in action in the real world.
Content on the website now exceeds 221,000 words (that's more than a 400-page IGCSE textbook), including more than 350 interactive quizzes, revision flash cards covering the entirety of the syllabus, and exam practice questions and mark schemes for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Resources are continually added on a weekly basis, 52 weeks a year.
Please remember that you can activate Student Access for all of your students to be able to use the resources on the InThinking IGCSE website. This is completely free of charge and enables your students to access the entire site - you control what they can see and when. At the time of writing, we have over 700 registered students who enjoy free access. You can activate this via the Student Access link from the homepage.
To stay up to date with the website's developments and professional discussions about the IGCSE Economics course, teachers are welcome to join our Facebook and WhatsApp support groups here:
We know at InThinking that the strength and growth of the community of teachers using our sites rely on word of mouth.
