April 2024 Updates and Notices
Monday 1 April 2024
Dear InThinking users
Welcome to the April 2024 Updates and Notices. Please see below for some of the latest updates to the website:
A new activity (called "Dicey Demand Connections Game") has been added here to help students revise Unit 2.3 Demand. You will need to get hold of some dice (or borrow these from the Mathematic faculty). Have fun with this!
Additional Paper 1 exam questions have been added during the past month. These include an additional 20 questions added to Unit 2.8 Price elasticity of supply (PES) page here.
A new case study and exam-style question for Unit 4.4.3 - Effects of monetary policy on government macroeconomic aims have been added here. This set of exam questions is based on Japan's first interest rate hike in 17 years (so, before any of our IGCSE students were even born!)
A new Tri-Dominoes activity for Unit 4 (Government and the macroeconomy) has been added here. This is a fun and engaging activity to help students with their revision of important key terms in the syllabus. There are two versions that you can choose from.
Additional Paper 2 exam questions have been added to the site. Some examples include:
Unit 2.7.2 Calculation of PED here.
Unit 2.8.2 Calculation of PES here.
Unit 2.7.5 Significance of PED here.
Unit 3.7.2 Calculation of costs of production here.
With exams fast approaching, why not activate Student Access for all of your students? This is completely free of charge and enables your students to access the entire site - you control what they can see and when. There are interactive Paper 1 MCQ tests for almost all sections of the syllabus. These are self-marked and you can get the results sent straight to your digital markbook. Answers are also provided to support students' understanding. At the time or writing, there are currently more than 700 students using the site, free of charge.
You can activate this via the Student Access link from the homepage.
To stay up to date with the website's developments and professional discussions about the InThinking IGCSE Economics course, teachers are welcome to join our Facebook and WhatsApp support groups here:
We know at InThinking that the strength and growth of the community of teachers using our sites rely on word of mouth.
