November 2023 Updates and Notices

Dear InThinking subscribers

Welcome to the November 2023 updates and notices to the website.

It's been a busy month of updates. Some of the highlights are shared below.

  • The highly popular "Tridominoes Activity" has added to the website to support students with their revision in a fun and engaging way. The first set of Tridominoes for Unit 1 of the syllabus has been uploaded here. Your students will enjoy this interesting activity which will get them talking about the different terms and phrases that feature in Unit 1 of the Economics syllabus.

  • A revision video and accompanying worksheet for Unit 2.7 (price elasticity of demand) has been added here.

  • For Unit 4.3 (Fiscal policy), 40 multiple choice questions have been added to the site. These are split into two quizzes, each with a succinct explanation of the answer provided to support your students' understanding of this challenging topic in the syllabus. The first Paper 1 MCQ quiz can be found here and the second quiz can be found here.

  • For Unit 4.4 (Monetary policy), 25 Paper 1 MCQs have been added here. Teachers can set any of these Paper 1 MCQ tasks as homework/tests since they are auto-marked, with the scores being recorded in your digital markbook. Instructions for setting this up can be found via the Student Access hyperlink on the homepage.

  • Similarly, 25 interactive Paper 1 MCQs for Unit 4.6 (Economic growth) have been added here. Answers are also provided to support students' understanding of this topic.

  • Additional Paper 2 exam practice questions for Unit 2.7 (Price elasticity of demand) have been added here.

  • Paper 2 exam practice questions have also been added to Unit 5.3.3 (The effects of changes in the size & structure of population on different countries) here. This particular set of questions is based on Hong Kong's declining population.

  • A new interactive True or False quiz for Unit 5.1.2 (Comparing living standards and income distribution) has been added here.

  • For Unit 6.4.4 (Policies to achieve balance of payments stability), a new interactive and auto-marked quiz has been added here. There are 15 questions, each with a short explanation to support your students' learning.

  • Last month, New York City announced its plans to introduce a congestion charge in Manhattan as a way to tackle the negative externalities associated with traffic in the city. A video and accompanying worksheet have been added here on the website.
