e. The Stresemann era

Stresemann was a leading member of every government from 1923 to 1929. Crucially, Streseman had wider support than Ebert as he was from a right-wing party. He was also helped by the fact that Europe was starting to emerge from the post-war depression years. Under Stresemann, Germany regained started to regain some normality and indeed, this period has even been called "a golden age"; nevertheless, weaknesses remained.
